Where you’ll be working

The Cancer Institute NSW is the NSW Government’s cancer control agency, established to lessen the impact of cancer across the state.

What you’ll be doing

 

In this role you will work across a range of communications disciplines and subject areas to plan and implement impactful communications aligned with strategic goals. 

 You will have demonstrated experience in media, public relations and corporate communications in a complex, fast paced environment.

 You will have strong experience in driving content for digital channels, including both written and multimedia outputs across social, email and website.

 Essential to the role will be your ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders with competing deadlines and priorities and delivering on time and within budget.

Essential requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, media studies or related discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent, relevant industry/professional experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with media, public relations and corporate communications in a complex, fast paced environment.
  • Experience in writing and editing for multiple channels, formats and audiences. 
  • Experience in developing and delivering communications assets in a range of formats for a variety of channels and diverse audiences.
  • Experience in basic multimedia content development, including taking photos and shooting video on personal devices.
  • Experience in developing tactical communications plans aligned with broader strategy

 

If successful for interview, candidates must bring original copies of essential qualifications to be sighted by the panel, and one copy to provide to panel.

 

Pre-screening questions

  1. Briefly, in around 300 words, outline your skills and experience across communications disciplines. 
  2. Please provide a brief overview of communications plan that you have implemented for diverse audiences, outlining the steps you took to ensure the message resonated with the target audience.
