Help shape the future of psychological care within Liverpool Hospital's expanding Haematology service. This newly created role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to the establishment of the new CAR T-cell service, supporting patients and families through some of the most complex stages of their healthcare journey while helping to embed psychological care into a growing specialist service.
- Be part of the establishment of Liverpool Hospital's new CAR T-cell service and help shape psychological care from the ground up.
- Join an expanding Haematology service delivering highly specialised treatment closer to home for patients across South Western Sydney.
- Provide psychological assessment and intervention across the CAR T-cell and broader Haematology pathways for patients and families facing complex and life-changing illnesses.
- Collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team and contribute to service development, clinical pathways, education and quality improvement initiatives.
- Join a large, supportive Psychology Department with strong professional supervision and opportunities to develop specialist expertise.

You are a skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about supporting people experiencing complex health challenges. - Clinical Psychologist with strong assessment, formulation and evidence-based intervention skills.
- Demonstrated interest in health psychology, oncology, haematology and/or complex medical care settings.
- Enthusiastic about helping develop a new service and influencing how psychological care is embedded within it.
- Collaborative, adaptable and confident working within a specialist multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a 0.5 FTE role (20 hours per week), with work days negotiated to meet service requirements.
Qualification Eligibility:
- Applicants currently enrolled in a combined Masters/PhD are eligible to apply if they have completed the equivalent of Masters degree requirements as part of the PhD pathway. Evidence of this is demonstrated by a completed PDEC-76 form and cover letter from the University confirming Masters degree requirements have been met.
- Applicants are eligible to apply if they have completed an accredited Masters degree and are awaiting their graduation ceremony. Written confirmation from the University is required.
- Successful applicants who have completed the Masters degree or Masters degree requirements and are awaiting full registration from the Psychology Board of Australia will be paid at Year 2 of the Psychologist Scale until they have full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, at which point they will commence on Year 1 of the Clinical Psychologist scale.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Full Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with full endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology or eligibility to progress to 'Clinical Psychology Endorsement' with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full-time duration or recognised equivalent.
- Please describe your experience providing psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based intervention for patients with complex medical conditions, including haematology, oncology or other chronic health conditions. How have you adapted your approach to address psychological distress associated with serious illness and intensive medical treatment?
Please provide an example of how you have worked independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to support a patient with complex needs. In your response, describe your contribution to assessment and treatment planning, communication with the team, and any contribution you made to improving the service or model of care.
