The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
An exciting Permanent Part Time Clinical Psychologist position has become available within Nepean Mental Health. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will provide psychological assessment and treatment for medical inpatients experiencing a diverse range of psychological problems impacting on their clinical care. The incumbent will utilise evidence based treatment approaches in the provision of psychological interventions. This position works collaboratively with the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Team and refer patients to appropriate services for follow up care as needed.

What you will bring to the role
- Post graduate qualifications in Clinical Psychology and registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with endorsement or working towards endorsement in clinical psychology
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the assessment and treatment of a range of psychological conditions or disorders in people with medical illnesses including adjustment disorder, panic and acute anxiety, acute stress disorder, major depression, pain management, behavioural issues
- Demonstrated experience and skill in conducting psychological and behavioural assessments
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the provision of evidence based psychological therapies
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, written communication skills, including use of a range of computer systems required for providing clinical care
- Demonstrated ability to both autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in evaluation and research
