Are you an experienced and compassionate Nurse looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families? Nepean Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) to join our Palliative and Supportive Care team in a Permanent Full-time or Part-time basis.
This is a role that will see you deliver advanced, evidence-based Palliative and Supportive Care Nursing, provide Clinical Leadership, Mentorship and support to Nursing staff. You will coordinate and manage complex patient care needs, collaborate with Medical, Allied Health, Community teams whilst supporting patients and families through symptom management, end-of-life care, and care planning and contribute to quality improvement, education, and service development initiatives.

You will bring to the role, empathy and a passion for Palliative Care, whilst demonstrating strong clinical judgement, communication and leadership abilities. What you will bring to the role

  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife Division 1 with AHPRA.
  2. Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in Palliative Care or relevant specialty, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
  3. Commitment to champion, educate and lead a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes as part of a team.
  4. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities according to best practice.
  5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, family/carers and a diverse range of health care providers.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to clinical practice development.
  7. Current Drivers Licence and ability to travel within the LHD in accordance with the position.
