About the role:


The AARCS clinician provides specialised aged care services for older individuals in inpatient settings with complex care and health needs. The service offers a patient-centred approach, focusing on comprehensive assessment, care planning, and coordination to ensure the timely and appropriate discharge of older patients. This position services multiple sites across the Tablelands sector and involves managing patients with challenging behaviours.


The role requires effective time management to prioritise workloads, ensuring the older person, their carer/family, and the healthcare facility's needs are met, including providing the first face-to-face AARCS intervention within one working day of referral. Clinicians advocate for older patients and their families while balancing conflicting priorities and must communicate effectively with families and service providers to achieve the best outcomes. They make critical decisions regarding clinical care, assessment, case management, and discharge planning, with support from the Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery.

Armidale, nestled in the scenic Northern Tablelands, is renowned for its charming tree-lined streets and stunning autumn colours, along with its unique seasonal climate. Positioned midway between Sydney and Brisbane along the New England Highway, the town is well-connected with a variety of transport options to both major cities. The region boasts a wide range of outdoor activities, including bushwalking in nearby World Heritage-listed National Parks, home to breathtaking gorges and waterfalls. Armidale is also an educational hub, offering a university, public and private schools, and a regional conservatorium, all providing a standard of education on par with any capital city in Australia.

  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.

Requirements:

Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Registered Nurse with current 'Authority to Practice' with AHPRA.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes.
