This role is a Category A role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.
For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
To obtain a WWCC clearance number, follow the instructions on the website of Service NSW, which includes completing an online application form and then attending a Service NSW Centre or a NSW Council Agency that provides Road and Maritime Services, to provide proof of identity and pay for the WWCC to be completed.
Please note that a volunteer WWCC (which is free) cannot be used for paid employment.
Selection Criteria
- Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with a relevant post-registration qualification and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development especially pain management education
- Demonstrated ability in leading and initiating activities to improve service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Current NSW driver's licence and ability and willingness to travel according to the job demands of the role.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and experience in autonomous decision making practice.
- Demonstrated skill in change management, implementation of evidence-based and best practice guidelines in clinical practice, including review of existing procedures and protocols.
