Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. What you'll be doing
To provide for the coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nurse education of the Community Assessment Unit. Such education may include orientation and/or transitioning for new nursing staff, undergraduate and casual nurses as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff. The CNE will work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and wider hospital team to develop and implement clinical education programs relevant to the specialties and basic nursing competencies.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Holds a relevant clinical or education post registration qualification and /or extensive relevant clinical experience in Medical Assessment Unit//Medical and or Acute Nursing.
- Holds or working towards a Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment - TAE 40110.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles).
- Demonstrated clinical teaching & facilitation skills.
- Computer literacy and understanding of hospital information systems.
