Essential Criteria
Registration: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
Selection Criteria
- 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field In addition the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Extensive understanding of acute issues pertaining to specialty field
- Extensive knowledge of good clinical practice, policies and procedure
- Proven ability to consult, review, and develop, both new and existing policies and procedures within the relevant speciality
- Computer skills including word processing, presentation, spread sheet applications and clinical information systems
