The EPAS Clinical Midwifery Consultant plays a key role in delivering high‑quality, standardised and compassionate care to women and their families. This includes clinical assessment, investigations, management, emotional support and counselling, ensuring that both the clinical and emotional needs of women and their partners are met.
The Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) is a low‑risk outpatient service for clinically stable women who are less than 20 weeks pregnant and experiencing threatened pregnancy loss or pregnancy loss, including mild pain or minimal vaginal bleeding.This role includes a strong clinical component, and the successful applicant will be required to run clinics as part of their duties.
NSW Health employees seeking a secondment must obtain approval from their current manager. You are encouraged to discuss your interest with your manager in advance to confirm whether the secondment can be supported before submitting an application.
Are You the Right Fit?
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with early pregnancy loss
- Experience with the management of early pregnancy loss
- Ability to manage both clinical and administrative duties.
- This position is a 7 day position with the opportunity to work weekends and public holidays as required.

- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in the provision of care to women and their families who are experiencing early pregnancy complications
Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical education and training on complex issues pertaining to obtaining positive clinical outcomes for women and their families experiencing early pregnancy loss.
