The Clinical Manager will oversee the provision of high quality, evidence-based responsive and effective care to maintain the safety, identify the needs and facilitate the most appropriate service response for people experiencing a
suicidal crisis in the community. Utilising telehealth and face-to-face outreach, the service provides consultation, assessment, intervention, safety planning, linkage with community resources, and pre-admission screening for
emergency inpatient treatment or referrals to Community Mental Health teams.
The hours of work involve a 5 day roster with afternoon and evening shifts and weekends as clinically required.

Selection Criteria:
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.
- Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award. Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW or Occupational Therapy with current registration with AHPRA. Registered Nurse/Midwife with current unrestricted registration with AHPRA and meet the requirement for NUM 1 grading under the NSW Public Health System Nurses' and Midwives' State Award. Psychology registration with the PsyBA, along with completion of 12 months at the 9th year of service and thereafter point on the salary scale for Psychologists. For Clinical Psychologists, full Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with full Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology, along with a minimum two-year full-time accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology.
- Demonstrated extensive skills, knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of mental health and/or suicidal screening, assessment and triage services with a focus on contemporary recovery orientation and strengths approaches that incorporate consumer collaboration in safety and/or care planning.
- Demonstrated multidisciplinary team leadership experience, including the provision of clinical supervision, the facilitation of clinical review and risk management, debriefing and supervision of team members and ability to apply independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a complex nature.
- Lived experience of suicidal thoughts or attempts, caring for someone who is or has been suicidal, or bereaved by suicide, with a strong personal commitment to SESLHD's goal of reducing suicides in the community.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning relevant to working with people with suicidal ideation and mental health issues.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office and experience with relevant health information systems.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
