The Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is currently seeking applications for an Inpatient Site Manager - Level 6 Social Worker for Gosford & Woy Woy Hospitals.
Working within a positive mutually supportive and skilled Social Work department, the position will be responsible for the operational team management and leadership of the Inpatient Social Work team that provides a professional social work service to patients and their family/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients consistent with CCLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, AASW Practice Standards and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. This position will work alongside the multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality care in a dynamic team environment.
The Inpatient Site Manager is able to demonstrate advanced reasoning skills and operates autonomously with minimal direct supervision. The Inpatient Site Manager has recognised significant clinical health related experience that demonstrates high level skilled expertise and extensive specialist knowledge in a number of acute health clinical specialties. The Site Manager will lead the Hospital inpatient Social Work team providing senior leadership, coordination,management and supervision.
The Inpatient Site Manager will provide assessment, crisis and brief intervention, counselling and case planning that supports and works alongside patients/carers/families experiencing the physical and emotional impact of illness and loss. The role facilitates smooth patient transition through the hospital system to the community based service system. The position is able to provide complex and critical clinical services when working alongside patients, families and carers. The role will also provide ongoing consultative support with the interdisciplinary team, management and internal and external service partners.
The Inpatient Site Manager will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues and senior managers within the hospital and CCLHD to ensure the development and delivery of effective, pro-active social work services that meet the changing needs of patients, their families/ carers.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, with a demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards.
- Post graduate management qualification and/or previous management experience.
- You will have highly advanced communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills.
- You can interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stake holders throughout all organizational levels and external service providers.
You will be based at Gosford Hospital and would be required to travel between CCLHD sites.
