Are you a passionate and experienced midwife looking to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a full-time Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) Grade 3 to join our dedicated team at the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). In this role, you will provide expert clinical, educational, and research leadership for our maternity services.

As an expert clinical lead, the CMC will have responsibility for developing professional midwifery practice and supporting research translation to ensure the delivery of quality women centered maternity care. The provision of a Grade 3 Consultancy service to women, clinicians and managers at all levels, throughout the CCLHD, across the domains of; Professional Clinical Leadership, Clinical Services Strategic Planning and Management, Education, Research and Clinical Service and Consultancy.

About You

  • You have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife (Division 1), with a minimum of 7 years full-time post-registration experience, including at least 5 years in the specialty field. Additionally, you hold approved postgraduate midwifery qualifications—either a Higher Degree by Research or a Post Graduate Qualification.
  • Your extensive experience is backed by a relevant Masters qualification or a contemporary professional practice portfolio, showcasing evidence of your postgraduate qualifications, continuous learning, and the knowledge and skills commensurate with the expectations of this role.
  • Your dedication to excellence in midwifery practice is complemented by your ability to provide expert clinical leadership, educate and mentor colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing development of evidence-informed, women-centered care. Your strategic thinking, policy development skills, and ability to foster multidisciplinary teamwork make you a valuable asset to our team.

The role will be based at Gosford Hospital with links to services at Wyong Hospital and community locations.
