Wollongong Hospital is the largest of Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District’s eight hospitals, treating more than 48,000 patients annually. It is the region’s tertiary referral hospital servicing a population of more than 400,000 people. The Wollongong Hospital is a 500+ bed centre which provides both general and specialty medical and surgical services including adult intensive care and coronary care units.

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
  2. Minimum four years post graduate experience with at least one year's experience in Plastic Surgery
  3. Sufficient skills, knowledge and experience to practice as a safe and competent plastic surgery CMO.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital.
  6. Demonstrated ability to to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff.
  7. Demonstrated experience in, and commitment to, research relevant to the role and the needs of the department.
