Where you'll be working:
This position is located within the John Hunter Children’s Hospital Allied Health Department. The collaborative and friendly work environment amongst the Child Life Therapists and Music and Art Therapists provides a stimulating and creative setting for one to ensure that services meet the needs of children, young people and their families.

About the role:
This managerial position is a job share arrangement. The staff member would help lead a growing and innovative team who provide services in the Emergency Department, Inpatient and Outpatient areas of John Hunter Children’s Hospital.

The role includes operational management and leadership responsibilities, alongside balancing this with clinical work.

The position will be supported by the Director of Allied Health and the Manager of Community and Allied Health to ensure that they are able to achieve the managerial and leadership tasks required of them. There is ongoing availability of appropriate clinical supervision and the job-share arrangement will lead to opportunities to learn from others.

About you:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering quality care to children, young people and families experiencing acute, chronic illness and injury. The candidate would have advanced communication skills, both orally and in writing. The candidate would contribute to the positive learning environment within the multidisciplinary workforce of the Child Life, Music and Art Therapy service.

We are looking for someone who has had experience working within a health setting utilising their knowledge and skills in Child Life, Music or Art Therapy.

Requirements:
  • Must hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood, primary teaching or a related field that includes two years study in child development, OR Master of Music Therapy, OR Master of Art Therapy.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW.
