- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Sufficient clinical experience in order to undertake the clinical duties of the role in a variety of clinical settings and proficiency in basic and advanced life support. This includes completion of at least four postgraduate years and successful completion of the examination requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and be eligible to undertake subspecialty training in Geriatric Medicine in Australia. Candidates who have completed FRACP part 1 (Written exam) and working towards completion of CRACP part 2 (clinical exam) will be considered for unaccredited advanced training
- Advanced ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
- Advanced communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience
- Advanced good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Advanced - clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly.
- Previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
