Sydney Local Health District is seeking a highly motivated Registrar to join the Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Unit at RPAH
The clinical duties of the position include working in outpatient clinics including general respiratory, tuberculosis, asthma, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary vascular disease, sleep medicine and respiratory failure, as well inpatient care, under the supervision of on-call consultants and provisional fellows. As part of the 1 in 5 weekends on call requirements, there will be Respiratory failure on call weekdays after hours and weekends.
RPA Respiratory and Sleep Medicine
Regular educational meetings are held with opportunities for trainees to present. Meetings include respiratory grand rounds, respiratory physiology, journal club, sleep meeting, MDTs in lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension as well as a sleep reporting meeting.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Excellent theoretical knowledge and clinical judgement.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical team – diligence, punctuality, organisation, record keeping, time management, problem solving skills, team work.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) with patients, their families, medical and non-medical colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to provide empathic and expert clinical care.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing advanced training education, research and teaching and continuous quality improvement.
