About Us

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a wonderful place to expand your career and grow your skills and knowledge. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we provide a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region.

The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

The primary purpose of the Adult Survivors Program Clinical Coordinator is to provide advanced clinical, strategic, educational, and programmatic expertise and leadership in the establishment and implementation of the NSW Health Adult Survivors Program – a specialist integrated program for adult survivors of child sexual abuse with complex needs.

The Adult Survivors Program aims to improve outcomes for adult survivors of child sexual abuse, with a particular focus on survivors of complex trauma with mental health and alcohol and other drug support needs.

The program model takes a hybrid strategic-clinical approach.
This role will provide advanced leadership and advice on high-quality therapeutic and clinical practice with adult survivors that promotes an evidence-based shift towards flexible, responsive, needs-based and client-centred clinical practice and away from more traditional medical, diagnostic, treatment and referral approaches.

This role is expected to hold a small client load to maintain clinical currency and will manage and supervise relevant clinical staff as local staffing for the new model is identified.
The position will provide clinical consultation on the management of adult survivors of child sexual assault for Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol services and provide advice to NGOs including local women’s health centres and relevant Aboriginal organisation.

It will also provide direct clinical supervision to clinicians providing care to this vulnerable group and will carry a small caseload of complex cases. The position will also lead the provision of the adult survivors therapeutic group programs
