Are you a passionate and innovative Speech Pathologist who is motivated through providing excellent clinical care to all patients? Are you interested in developing clinical skills in a range of clinical specialties? St George Hospital Speech Pathology department is seeking a level 1/2 Speech Pathologist to join our team. This is a temporary, full time contract until May 2025, with the possibility of extension.
This exciting role will be working as part of a diverse and dynamic team in a large tertiary teaching hospital in Kogarah. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of inpatients and outpatients from a variety of clinical specialties including general medicine, aged care, neurosciences and surgical caseloads. This position is required to plan, coordinate, and deliver high quality Speech Pathology care to patients and their families at St George Hospital consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards. St George Hospital is the Level 1 Trauma Centre for SESLHD and is among the leading centres for trauma and emergency management in the State.     1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Speech Pathology Australia
    2. Demonstrated core competency skills in managing patients with dysphagia and communication disorders.
    3. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery
    4. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience
    5. Computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems
    6. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning
    7. Demonstrated commitment to a positive workplace culture.
