About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Ambulatory Care Business Unit (ACBU) as part of the administrative team within the department of Clinical Immunology and Allergy at RPAH. We are seeking a motivated and organised administrative professional who is committed to delivering exceptional customer service and providing high-quality administrative support within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
The department of Clinical Immunology and Allergy provides comprehensive care for patients with a broad range of allergic, immunological, autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. As Australia's first Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCiS) Centre of Excellence, the department delivers specialist outpatient services, multidisciplinary clinics and works closely with clinicians and services across RPAH and NSW. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting patient bookings, coordinating appointments, liaising with clinicians and patients, managing Medicare billing and contributing to the efficient operation of this busy specialist service.
Whilst the position is based within the Clinical Immunology and Allergy department, the role sits within ACBU, which manages the centralised administrative workforce across outpatient services at RPAH.

Ideal Candidate
- Customer service experience with the ability to demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Practical experience with or understanding of Medicare billing in a public hospital.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Understanding of policies and procedures within NSW Health and how these apply in the workplace in particular, the importance of patient confidentiality.
