About the Opportunity
The position is responsible for the coordination of a range of service development and evaluation activities across the SWSLHD Aboriginal Health portfolio that improves access to and the responsiveness of health services for Aboriginal communities in South Western Sydney. The position plays an important role in engaging with consumers and community to maintain relations, collect and evaluate feedback and implement change to improve experience.

The position is based in the SWSLHD Aboriginal Health Unit (AHU) and will work closely with the Director of Aboriginal Health and the small but dynamic AHU Team to support the governance and operational functions of the SWSLHD Aboriginal Health Service.  

 
The position will play a key role in coordinating the collection and analysis of performance data and the evaluation of SWSLHD Aboriginal Health programs. The position will also support the functions of the SWSLHD Aboriginal Health governance structure.

 

What You'll be Doing
The position is responsible for leading service development and quality improvement activities across the SWSLHD Aboriginal Health portfolio. The role will be responsible for supporting SWSLHD Facilities and Services to meet the Aboriginal Health accreditation standards and ensuring the provision of culturally responsive care. The position will play a key role in coordinating the collection and analysis of Aboriginal specific data collected within and beyond the Hospital setting and supporting research and evaluation initiatives.

 

Where You'll Be Working 
SWSLHD operates its services on the lands of the Dharawal, Darug and Gundungurra lands and has a rich history of working alongside local Aboriginal communities. SWSLHD has long established partnerships with Aboriginal Organisations in our region that are critical to the way we operate and deliver our services.

The Project Officer will be based at Liverpool Hospital in the AHU but will be working across the region with internal and external stakeholders. The Project Officer will be part of the Aboriginal Health Leadership Team that includes the Aboriginal Managers from across a range of services. We offer a wide range of cultural supports across the service including mentoring from experienced Aboriginal Leaders, training and development opportunities as well as scope to interact with a large network of Aboriginal colleagues internally and externally in a range of service areas.
