Where you'll be working
You will be based at either Royal North Shore Hospital or Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital with opportunities to work across various NSLHD services in Northern Sydney
What you'll be doing
Undertake Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice, completed over 1 year.
Under supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team, provide appropriate health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to become an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker.
Promote the well-being of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the wider communities and where possible, work in a holistic way to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage under section 14(d) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, with knowledge and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander culture.
- Willing to undertake Certificate III in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice and/or equivalent.
- Be able to work in a team environment as well as individually.
- Demonstrated oral and written and interpersonal communication skills.
