What you'll be doing
- Leading a team to reduce infection rates and improve practices.
- Providing expert consultancy and clinical supervision across various service groups.
- Designing and implementing education programs for healthcare staff.
- Driving research initiatives to enhance infection control practices.
- Managing complex projects and clinical service improvements.
How to Apply
Essential Criteria:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Division 1)
Selection Criteria:
- A Registered Nurse who has at least 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
- The applicant must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation
- Credentialing with, or working towards, the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control as an Expert Infection Prevention and Control Practitioner
- Demonstrated extensive experience and knowledge applied in a mixed clinical environment and/or across a range of services
- Demonstrated ability to identify service improvement opportunities. Including the capacity to initiate change and negotiate support from key stakeholders across the organisation in clinical practice implementation
- Demonstrated application of highly developed verbal and written communication to debate complex concepts with experts and support long term relationships with broad range stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead change at an organisational level that supports strategic directions and enhance clinical practice and service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, problem solve and make timely and sound clinical decisions whilst working autonomously e.g. understanding the application of evidence based practice, risk reduction and management and the principles of continuous quality improvement in infection prevention
