What you'll be doing 
As a Registered Nurse – Child and Family Mental Health, you will provide high-quality, person-centred mental health care that promotes psychological, physical and emotional wellbeing for children and families.

Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver coordinated, recovery-oriented care in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

  • Deliver evidence-based mental health nursing care across the care continuum

  • Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with consumers, families and carers

  • Undertake comprehensive assessment, care planning and evaluation in partnership with clients and the MDT

  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with legal and professional standards

  • Participate in health promotion, quality improvement and ongoing professional development

Essential Requirements
Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Registered Nurse who has completed a new graduate RN program or experience working as a Registered Nurse

  2. Demonstrated experience working with people presenting with an acute mental health problem

  3. Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills with proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team within minimal direct clinical supervision

  4. Proven effective high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to exercise independent professional judgement when solving problems

  5. Working knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007

  6. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with consumers and carers regarding mental health care

  7. An understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health and the ability to implement these within clinical practice

  8. Current NSW drivers licence
