Achieve Something Great
Campbelltown Hospital is seeking a driven, dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse to join our highly skilled team in the Special Care Nursery. This is an exciting opportunity to provide safe, compassionate and culturally appropriate care to some of our most vulnerable patients. In this rewarding role, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care in collaboration with a supportive multidisciplinary team—helping infants and their families achieve the best possible outcomes.
You’ll work in a dynamic, diverse environment that enables you to build upon your existing skillset in neonatal care. As part of our team, you will take responsibility for your clinical practice, engage in professional development, and participate in the teaching and support of others. With regular access to experienced CNEs, CNS2s, CNCs and specialised nursing staff, you’ll be supported to grow, reflect and expand your knowledge within a nurturing, patient‑centred setting.
Are You the Right Fit?
This part‑time role is ideal for a Registered Nurse who brings strong clinical skills, excellent communication and the ability to adapt quickly within a fast‑paced, neonatal environment. You will demonstrate confidence in assessing and responding to the needs of infants and their families, while managing your time effectively and maintaining a calm, compassionate approach to care. Your practice will be guided by evidence, sound clinical judgement and the ability to prioritise competing demands without compromising patient safety.
We are seeking candidates with a professional, accountable attitude who consistently uphold nursing standards, ethical codes and NSW Health expectations. You will show meticulous attention to detail, participate actively in ongoing learning and reflect critically on your own practice. The right fit is someone who works well within a multidisciplinary team, supports and coaches colleagues when needed, and models positive behaviours that contribute to a safe, respectful and high‑performing Special Care Nursery environment.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality.
3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
