This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting patients, families and clinicians to ensure the safe and effective delivery of Voluntary Assisted Dying across NSW. Interested applicants are encouraged to get in contact to discuss the role.
We are advertising two part-time positions: a permanent role (24 hours per week) and a temporary role (16 hours per week). An eligibility list will also be established for future opportunities.
Employment Type: Permanent and Temporary Part Time positions available until 5 February 2027 (with possibility of ongoing employment)
Position Classification: Pharmacist Grade 3
Remuneration: $69.14 - $71.01 per hour

Where you'll be working
Voluntary Assisted Dying Pharmacy Statewide Service based at Royal North Shore Hospital
What you'll be doing
In this role, you will work as a key member of the Statewide Voluntary Assisted Dying Pharmacy Service, providing expert pharmaceutical advice and support to patients, families, and clinicians. You will contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of a safe, compliant and compassionate VAD pharmacy service, including the supply of approved VAD medicines, education and support of health professionals, participation in quality improvement activities, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary statewide team to ensure equitable access to VAD services across NSW.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA with no conditions or restrictions on practice and hold a current NSW driver’s licence with the willingness to travel to regional, rural and remote areas within NSW.
- Please describe your experience working as a senior pharmacist in a hospital and/or community setting, particularly any experience related to end‑of‑life care, complex patient support, or multidisciplinary teams.
- Please provide an example of how you have managed competing priorities and delivered high‑quality outcomes within tight timeframes in a complex or sensitive healthcare environment.
