Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is the largest paediatric health care entity in Australia. We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives.
Be Part of a Once-in-a-Lifetime Transformation in Paediatric Pharmacy
Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network is undergoing a once in a lifetime redevelopment with new facilities at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick and The Children’s Hospital, Westmead. We are looking for a strategic thinker to take up the newly created role of SCHN Chief Technician to join us as we move into our brand-new, purpose-built pharmacies in November 2025 at Randwick and March 2026 at Westmead.
Our pharmacy departments deliver inpatient clinical, operational, HITH, ambulatory and outpatient pharmacy services to the hospital. We care for patients as part of the multi-disciplinary team under medical teams such as oncology/haematology, neurology, renal, gastroenterology, intensive care, mental health, emergency and surgical. We support pharmacy technicians through Cert III and IV training. Quality improvement and research are embedded in practice, and we train our staff to be skilled educators.
Both new Pharmacy departments will feature automation in patient care areas to streamline inventory management and a central pharmacy equipped with a robotic dispensing system. The pharmacy departments have aseptic, cytotoxic, and gene therapy suites, along with specialised non-sterile compounding facilities to support tailored formulations.
