- A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. A BSc in neuroscience or genetics or related fields of study is preferred with experience in the human molecular genetics and molecular biology techniques.
- Excellent working knowledge of research methods in biomedical research.
- Demonstrated practical experience in optimising and developing protocols, data extraction forms in a research environment.
- Research experience in in vitro functional analysis including splicing assays. Practical familiarity with next-generation sequencing in neurological disorders and experience of working with large datasets.
- Possess high levels of organisation and meticulous record keeping. Evidence of efficient time management and multi-tasking.
- A sound understanding of data confidentiality and principles of ethical research practice.
- Evidence for a high standard of communication skills and demonstrated ability working effectively both independently and within dynamic research teams.
- Computer literacy, database management and excellent analytical skills.
