An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse to join the SCHN virtualKIDS service. virtualKIDS is a dynamic, multidisciplinary service offering on site 24/7 specialty paediatric virtual care to children and young people, both locally and throughout NSW. The aim of our service is to ensure children and their families have access to the right health care, at the right time and in the comfort of their own home. We offer support for children and young people with acute conditions, as well as chronic and complex health care needs. • Recent Acute Paediatric experience with an up-to-date skill set is essential. • Good clinical IT skills are essential. • Experience in Virtual care platforms is not essential, training will be provided. This role currently requires candidates to work a rotational roster across seven days, including day, afternoon and potentially night shifts. The role is based onsite and may require work across both The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. The service is currently undergoing consultation regarding a proposed 10-hour shift model.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Current Acute Nursing experience in a hospital setting.
  5. Effective time management skills.
  6. Computer literacy.
  7. Capacity to work a seven (7) day rotating roster including public holidays.
