The Kids Cancer Centre, newly partnered with Minderoo Comprehensive Cancer Centre offers world class care in both research and clinical medicine including Molecular and Bone Marrow Transplants, Radiation and Chemotherapies and emerging Genome based treatments.
This cross-disciplinary fellowship will allow time spent in the Intensive Care Unit, developing skills important for a consultant role including clinical care, education, and management skills whilst undertaking protected training time in Oncology with the view of upskilling the candidate with specialised onco-critical care expertise.
The Oncology-critical Care Fellow role is a leadership role, both within the ICU and Oncology departments, and across the wider hospital community.

Selection Critera:
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Registered with the RACP, CICM or equivalent. Preference will be given to trainees working towards a career in intensive care.
- A minimum of 18 months intensive care experience – preference will be given to candidates with paediatric intensive care experience and/or those working previously in a senior registrar (or equivalent) role.
- Demonstrated an interest in Oncology, with supportive evidence from previous training/research experience preferred.
- Understanding of research methodology or research experience, and willingness to undertake research, with the view to oversee and complete joint research projects between Oncology and ICU departments during the time of employment.
- Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
