The SCH Neurology Department provides comprehensive care for patients across the state of NSW in all aspects of Paediatric Neurology, including epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, neuroimmunology, neurogenetic disorders, stroke, and complex movement disorders. The department works closely with the world-class Kids Cancer Centre, providing an extensive program in both clinical medicine and research for brain tumour patients.
This cross disciplinary fellowship will allow time spent in the Intensive Care Unit, developing skills important for a consultant role including clinical care, education, and management skills whilst undertaking protected training time in Neurology with the view of upskilling the candidate with specialised neurocritical care expertise. The Neurocritical Care Fellow role is a leadership role, both within the ICU and Neurology departments, and across the wider hospital community.

Selection Criteria:
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Registered with the RACP, CICM or equivalent. Preference will be given to trainees working towards a career in intensive care.
- A minimum of 18 months intensive care experience – preference will be given to candidates with paediatric intensive care experience and/or those working previously in a senior registrar (or equivalent) role.
- Demonstrated an interest in Neurology, with supportive evidence from previous training/research experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
