What you'll be doing
Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (SCHN) main core service is  to provide innovative and dynamic health service for all children attending our facilities.


The ROI Officer  position is vital to the Health Information Unit function by processing of all request for health information,  subpoena,  doctor’s request  patient access, solicitor’s clinical notes request and any other requests for health information.


All processes within the Health Information Unit involve working within the electronic and paper medical record across both sites (Randwick and Westmead).

Please note that throughout the recruitment process you will be assessed with the following: 

  1. Exceptional high level analytical skills
  2. High level of attention to detail
  3. 3. Highly developed PC skills (Excel, Work, Outlook and Access)
  4. Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, prioritisation and negotiation skills in order to liaise effectively with parents, clinical staff, solicitors, insurance companies and other clients
  5. Understanding of the health principles including the NSW Health Records Information and Privacy Act
  6. Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written, customer service and interpersonal skills

As part of your application please address the following targeted questions:

  • Provide an example of a time when you had to explain something complex to a frustrated client or co-worker. How did you make sure that they understood you? What was the outcome?
  • Privacy is of extreme importance in any Health environment, especially in a Paediatric Hospital. What Privacy legislation are you familiar with and how have you applied this in the past?
  • Give us an example of a time you anticipated a customer's needs and were able to impact customer satisfaction. How did you do it? What was the result?
