Seeking a motivated Research Officer to join our Functionally Applied Biology (FAB) Program, supporting a cutting-edge project funded by Tour de Cure. This laboratory-based role focuses on investigating how CAR T cell tumour targets are trafficked in paediatric brain cancers, using advanced models including stem-cell-derived organoids and patient-derived cancer cells. Based in the vibrant Westmead Health Precinct—a hub of internationally recognised clinicians and scientists—you’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities and a highly collaborative research environment. In this role, you’ll contribute to and drive novel research exploring how tumour-associated antigens are presented on the cell surface. You’ll use a range of cell and molecular biology techniques, alongside advanced fluorescence imaging, to map and manipulate these targets with the ultimate aim of enhancing immunotherapy for children with brain cancer. The Children’s Cancer Research Unit (CCRU) is the research arm of the Cancer Centre for Children. Our mission: “Using science to make kids’ cancer a disease of the past.” We’re looking for a researcher with demonstrated experience in cancer cell biology, molecular biology and fluorescence imaging, a passion for rigorous, high-quality science and a drive to deliver translational outcomes that make a real-world difference.

If you're excited by science that directly impacts young lives, and want to be part of a team that’s working to transform the future of childhood cancer treatment—we’d love to hear from you.
