We are looking for detail-oriented and proactive Outpatient Billing and Revenue Officers to join our outpatient teams at Randwick Children’s Hospital (1 permanent full-time role) and Westmead Children’s Hospital (28 hour permanent part-time role). These positions are Monday to Friday, with no weekends or public holidays.
In this key role, you will:
- Lead outpatient billing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Medicare and health policies
- Collaborate closely with referral officers and admin staff to link billing and referral information
- Process daily Medicare claims and manage payment issues
- Support patients and families at reception and assist with appointment scheduling and clinic operations
- Educate and support staff in billing procedures and systems

What you'll be doing
- Demonstrated experience in providing high-level administrative support to a department in a healthcare or hospital setting
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals
- Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and independently, while taking initiative as required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hospital-based systems i.e iPM, eMR, scheduling, Patient Billing & Revenue Collection (PBRC) and Microsoft Office Word.
- Experience in prioritising tasks effectively and take initiative to improve processes and outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in training and mentoring staff, with the ability to support a team in developing their skills and knowledge in line with organisational goals and objectives
