What you'll be doing
The Admin Officer is responsible for administrative support for the Department of Clinical Genetics as directed by the Head of Department and is required to maintain a sound knowledge of the activities of the department so as to support its aims and objectives. Show initiative and independence in decision making for day to day operational matters, with support and broad supervision of HOD and Senior Secretary.
Primary roles include but are not limited to:
- Reception duties - to receive patients and answer phone calls, assist clinical staff with triage of calls
- Type and mail letters or reports, scan and file documents, distribute mail and files
- Assist more senior staff including counsellors, doctors and other administrative staff with clinic coordination
- Enter and analyse data in clinical and administrative databases
Other complex tasks or projects as directed by the Head of Department to support the clinical activities of the Department of Clinical Genetics
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has prior reception/administrative experience in medical and paramedical enquiries,
Demonstrates high level organisational skills,
Has experience in clinic coordination including audio transcription and medical terminology.
