Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is the largest paediatric health care entity in Australia. We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives.
Kids Rehab is one of three specialised paediatric rehabilitation services (PRS) in NSW, caring for children and young people who as the result of injury, a health condition or surgical/medical intervention would benefit from a multidisciplinary program of goal-directed care. The clinical team consists of medical, nursing and allied health staff, who collaborate with families to provide high-quality care that is tailored to the child and their family. This is done through a variety methods, with a focus particularly on intensive rehabilitation programs within inpatient and outpatient domains, and through comprehensive consultation within multidisciplinary outpatient clinics.
The Administration Officer - Level 4 will be responsible for leading the administration team to provide comprehensive administration support to the department. They will ensure clinical staff are able to provide effective care to patients and families by organising appointments, ensuring timely communication and enquiries through phone and email, supporting referral and discharge management, human resource management ,and other departmental functions as required. They require a level of autonomy, flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a large and multifaceted clinical specialty.
What you'll be doing
- To - Provide high level Secretarial and Administrative services
- To - Assist teams in their clinical roles e.g. (including but not limited to) scheduling appointments, transcription typing of clinical letters, answering and responding to telephone enquiries, managing referrals, processing invoices, bulk billing, updating and maintaining patient information via databases, coordinating clinics through the patient scheduling system, as well as organising patients files that are required for the medical teams, Healthroster data entry and roster creation through roster demand template/s for department staff members.
- To - Exercise initiative in the application of established day to day work practices and procedures in the department such as prioritizing workload and ensuring tasks are met within a timely manner.
- To - Communicate with clinicians and non-medical personnel on behalf of the department (both verbal and written).
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has at least 2 years administration working experience within a health, disability or medical environment
- Demonstrates ability to learn or relevant experience with navigating various databases and scheduling systems
- An example of the ability to use initiative, work autonomously and as part of a team
- An example of the ability to prioritise workload and ensure all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
