Royal North Shore Hospital - Pharmacy Department
What you'll be doing
To provide pharmaceutical care to consumers within the NSLHD including pharmacist support to the service being provided. To provide education and medicines information services to consumers, carers and families, and other health care professionals. To participate as active members of multi-disciplinary teams.
The Mental Health Pharmacist is responsible for providing a comprehensive range of pharmacy services to outpatients and inpatients and to ensure the quality use of medicines within the mental health and hospital setting.
This includes but is not limited to drug distribution, manufacturing, clinical pharmacy services, outpatient services, drug information, education and research. The Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist also supports the MHDA Medication Committee.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Must hold registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
- Commitment to participation in professional development and quality improvement activities.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the provision of Pharmacy services to consumers, carers and families requiring medication reconciliation, dispensing and dosing.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
- Proven ability to work independently and to establish effective collaborative working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and interagency networks.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the care of Mental Health patients.
