Registered Nurse - Needle and Syringe Program

What you will bring to the role:

1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA and demonstrated experience and clinical skill in nursing as a Registered Nurse including completion of a new graduate Registered Nurse program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse.
2. Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the harm minimisation approach to illicit drug use.
3. Demonstrated understanding of the range of health issues facing injecting drug users and the contemporary approaches to addressing these.
4. Experience in venepuncture, wound care and accreditation in immunisation or willingness to undertake training in these areas
5. Experience in providing pre and post-test HIV and hepatitis C counselling or willingness to undertake training
6. Knowledge of Hep C transmission and treatment
7. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, teamwork, negotiation, communication, and motivational skills.
8. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel. Ability to travel within the LHD in accordance with the position.
