What you’ll be doing
The Principal Advisor leads a team to:
- Prepare, manage and review high-level briefings, communications and correspondence.
- Develop strategic advice on diverse policy, planning and operational matters.
- Implement and evaluate business practices and systems to optimise efficiency and support the achievement of quality outcomes.
- Act as the Executive point of contact and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop agreed positions on complex or critical issues relating to maternity, child youth and family health, and prevention and response to violence abuse and neglect.
- Undertake strategic projects and proactively managing sensitive/contentious issues, often within tight timeframes.

Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $149,739 - $173,174 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location - 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrated relevant, professional experience in health and/or social policy. Relevant tertiary qualifications and management experience would be highly regarded.
- Significant experience in developing, analysing and evaluating policy and other projects in a multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environment.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, particularly in matters of great political sensitivity, strict confidentiality and/or potential controversy.
