The Patient Safety First Unit’s (PSFU) focus is to strengthen the safety and quality of care in NSW. Patient Safety First works with local health districts and specialty health networks and Directors of Clinical Governance in partnership with the Clinical Excellence Commission, eHealth and other Ministry of Health branches to support the NSW Health Future Health Strategic Framework.
The Policy Officer supports the team in the development, implementation and evaluation of systems, programs, policies and guidelines to support safe high quality care across the NSW Health system.
The Policy Officer contributes to the provision of clear, considered and comprehensive advice on safety and quality of care matters to the Minister, the Executive, Local Health Districts and other personnel in NSW Health as appropriate.
Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $113,574 - $125,720 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards

What you'll be doing
The Policy Officer is a member of the team who will:
- Provide clear and credible verbal and written advice to a large range of stakeholders of the NSW Health system
- Liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to the management of relationships
- Prepare policy documents, briefs, correspondence, meetings and presentations for the Minister, Senior Executives and key staff within the Ministry of Health, public health organisations and related government agencies
- Undertake a range of administrative functions to support the team and to ensure timely and thorough issues management
- Provide executive support functions (including meeting attendance, agenda preparation, arrangement of meetings, and liaison with members) for the Director and team
