The SESLHD Mental Health Service is a specialised clinical service, providing care to a local population of over 930,000 residents in the Sydney metropolitan area. We provide care within both hospital and community settings to support people living with mental illness at times when acute intervention is needed, or to remain well in their community and lead their own recovery.

An opportunity for an experienced Peer or Health Service Manager to join headspace Bondi Junction making a difference in for young people and their families by managing and providing leadership for a small team of peer workers within the headspace service. Sound like you?
The Youth Peer Manager is responsible for providing support services for the management of the headspace youth group program.
The role will draw upon their lived experience of mental health challenges and their personal recovery journey, to develop empathic relationships and support personal recovery for mental health consumers of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD).

Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or willingness and commitment to obtain; Current Drivers Licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
Describe how you have purposefully used your own lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery to support a young person in their recovery journey. How did you build an empathetic relationship, maintain appropriate boundaries and use peer work principles to promote hope, choice, self-determination and social connectedness?
Provide an example of when you led, supervised or supported Peer Workers or a similar team. How did you allocate and prioritise work, coach or mentor staff, monitor performance and support team members to deliver effective services while managing a demanding workload?
Tell us about a peer-led group program, activity or consumer participation initiative you have planned, implemented or evaluated. How did you identify what consumers needed, involve relevant stakeholders, use appropriate systems or technology, and evaluate whether the initiative achieved its intended outcomes?
