What you'll be doing
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will support allied health professionals in delivering safe, effective and high-quality therapy services to patients and clients across the continuum of care.

  • Assist with individual and group therapy, education and exercise programs under supervision

  • Support patients to maximise independence, mobility and functional outcomes

  • Accurately document patient attendance, progress and treatment outcomes

  • Communicate effectively with allied health professionals and the broader healthcare team

  • Assist with therapy equipment maintenance, stock management and clinical preparation tasks

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification: Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance/relevant qualification. 

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent/relevant qualifications) or more than 12 months (full-time equivalent) experience as an AHA.

  2. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders.

  3. Demonstrated previous experience working in a health environment.

  4. Demonstrated ability to work as a contributing member of the allied health team.

  5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload delegated by supervising AHP's, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice, seeking assistance as required.

  6. Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.

  7. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles and how it applies to the duties of the position.

  8. Demonstrated ability to work within a healthcare service or professional care giving capacity, in a positive manner enhancing the client's ability to achieve positive outcomes and personal goals.
