About the opportunity
Western NSW LHD is seeking applications from suitably qualified radiologists to work within Medical Imaging facilities across WNSWLHD. A variety of engagement models can be negotiated from Fulltime to Part Time, with positions being available in Bathurst, Dubbo and Orange.
Bathurst Health Service
BHS seeks a radiologist(s) with a broad skillset capable of reporting a wide range of medical imaging examinations from general Xray to MRIs, whilst also being able to perform at a minimum a range of Tier A procedures suitable to a hospital environment (from biopsies, to drain insertions and vascular access).
Dubbo Health Service
DHS seeks a radiologist(s) with a broad skillset capable of reporting a wide range of medical imaging examinations from general Xray to MRIs, whilst also being able to perform a range of Tier A procedures (from biopsies, to drain insertions and vascular access) and dependent on skill set there is also an opportunity to provide some more complex Tier B interventional radiology support.
Orange Health Service
At a minimum OHS seeks a radiologist(s) with a broad skillset capable of reporting a wide range of medical imaging examinations from general Xray to MRIs, whilst also being able to perform a range of Tier A procedures (from biopsies, to drain insertions and vascular access). Appointments of Radiologists with Tier B Interventional Radiology capability will also be considered to support the growth and development of more complex Interventional Radiology that is performed at Orange and at other locations within the District.
On-site radiologists will support and provide supervision to the RANZCR accredited registrar training program.
Only applicants with full Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) will be considered.

WNSWLHD Medical Imaging operates as a District Wide Service, delivering services across the network of medical imaging facilities. As such, radiologists within WNSWLHD are required to provide diagnostic reporting across all locations from their central on-site location, whilst participating in their local functions such as interventional workload and consultation.
This position reports through to the General Manager of Imaging Services with an executive structure supportive of the progression of the radiology and medical imaging stream.
A range of engagement methods may be considered for the right applicant, and if not based locally “fly in fly out” or “drive in drive out” options will be considered for the right applicant and skill set.
Staff Specialist or VMO engagement models may be considered.
Successful candidates may be able to seek an Academic/Teaching/Research role with one of our three partner Universities in the District being University of Sydney for Dubbo Health Service, Charles Sturt University for Orange Health Service and Western Sydney University for Bathurst Health Service. To apply, please address the following Selection Criteria
1. Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
2. Current Authority to Practice as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)/Medical Board of Australia, and Fellowship of the RANZCR.
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
5. Demonstrated technical and professional competence as a Consultant Radiologist, and in the specialty practice of Radiology, with clinical hospital experience within the last two years.
6. Demonstrated participation in, and commitment to quality assurance activities relevant to radiology practice.
7. Commitment to equitable participation in an on-call roster with other consultant radiologists, as services develop. NB: No current on call requirement.
8. Demonstrated ability to perform/report multi-modality diagnostic radiology studies and procedures, subspecialty interest in MRI and previous experience in performing Tier A procedures in an acute hospital setting is beneficial.
