About the Role
Gunnedah Hospital is looking for a Wardsperson to join the team and support the delivery of safe, high-quality care to patients, staff, and visitors. In this role, you will assist with patient movement and care, cleaning duties, portering, and theatre support to help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the hospital. Your work will contribute directly to patient comfort, safety, and efficient patient flow across the service. You will be provided with full orientation and on-the-job training, and supported by the Health Service Manager, Nurse Unit Managers, and Clinical Nurse Educators. The leadership team values flexibility, open communication, and staff development, and you will be part of a welcoming and supportive team that is committed to helping you succeed. This role involves shift work and requires reliability, teamwork, and a strong commitment to quality patient care.
About You
We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering quality patient care in a hospital environment.
You will demonstrate:
- An understanding of and commitment to confidentiality principles
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and agents (or willingness to learn)
- Effective communication skills
- The ability to work shift work
- The capacity to work independently and as part of a team
Previous experience in wardsperson duties, cleaning, or patient care is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
