Join a supportive and purpose-driven team where your carpentry expertise helps people rebuild skills, confidence and independence following a brain injury. In this rewarding role, you will combine hands-on workshop management with meaningful client training and rehabilitation outcomes.
- Deliver individual and group-based carpentry training programs tailored to clients' abilities and rehabilitation goals.
- Supervise the safe use of woodworking tools and machinery while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Coordinate workshop operations, including materials, equipment maintenance, WHS compliance and production activities.
- Work closely with Occupational Therapists, multidisciplinary teams, families and carers to support client progress.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives that enhance rehabilitation outcomes and client experiences.

A Skilled tradesperson with strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting people with disability or injury, ready to thrive in a hands-on environment, can manage competing priorities independently and is passionate about creating safe and engaging learning opportunities.
The right candidate would:
- Demonstrate knowledge of woodworking techniques, machinery and workshop operations.
- Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety and risk management principles within a woodworking environment.
- Ability to provide clear instruction, supervision and support to individuals with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage schedules, records and workshop resources.
- Effective communicator who works collaboratively with clients, carers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain such within 3 months of commencement in the position.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
- Demonstrated knowledge of woodwork procedures and equipment use.
- Understanding of Work, Health and Safety.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a team.
- Experience working with people with a disability and/or awareness of the challenges of returning to work after a severe injury.
- Willingness to undertake internal training as a Manual Handling: Workplace Trainer.
- Demonstrated understanding of Risk Management principles as applied in a woodworking environment.
