Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
We are looking for a Visiting Medical Officer in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy! The primary purpose of the role of Visiting Medical Officer in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy is to provide procedural sessions for routine Endoscopy (diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy) lists at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital has developed additional capacity for endoscopy lists which have been added through an enhancement to reduce patient waiting times following referral through the Direct Access Colonoscopy pathway and Gastroenterology/Liver Clinics and VMO Rooms. Up to five half-day sessions per week are currently available for an initial three-month period. There is no expectation for the Visiting Medical Officer to participate in other clinical sessions within the AW Morrow Gastroenterology and Liver Centre, other than these Endoscopy sessions.
The Visiting Medical Officer will hold appropriate Conjoint Committee certification /recertification and will ensure a high standard of professional performance including documentation, reporting and communication with patients and families, other team members and referring doctors as appropriate.
The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition, with current Conjoint Committee Certification in Gastroscopy/Colonoscopy and Conjoint Committee Recertification in Colonoscopy.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
