Temporary 12-month position for a Vascular Sonographer in a busy vascular ultrasound unit.

Vascular Ultrasound Unit, Royal North Shore Hospital

What you'll be doing
To ensure the efficiency of the department is maintained, in association with departmental SSOs (if available), daily completion of room stock take is to be performed, including examination room preparation, maintenance of consumables, and assistance for manual handling tasks. 

The position must participate with patient throughput, patient care and patient scheduling. Included within this definition is overall Quality Assurance, organisation, activities and adherence to the standards within the Vascular Ultrasound Unit; participating in implementation of existing and new techniques, adherence to protocols, scheduling and training and ensuring all resources are used in the most effective manner. 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Must hold a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science in Diagnostic Radiography or Applied Science and a relevant post graduate diploma with current AHPRA registration and EPA Licence or ASAR accredited Medical Sonographer with a post graduate degree in Sonography.
  2. Current or recent demonstrated experience in vascular ultrasound in a tertiary hospital.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
