About the role

Shape the future of sustainable healthcare across one of NSW’s largest and most diverse health districts.
As the Sustainability Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of Hunter New England Local Health District’s Sustainability Strategy -embedding sustainable practices across operations, infrastructure, and service delivery.

You’ll drive innovative programs that reduce environmental impact, support NSW Health and Government net zero targets, and foster a culture of environmental and social responsibility throughout the district.

About you

You are a dynamic leader with a passion for sustainability and a proven track record in driving strategic initiatives and continuous improvement. You are confident managing complex projects, building capability, and engaging senior stakeholders to create positive, measurable impact.

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in sustainability, project management, or innovation.

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice, analyse complex data, and develop evidence-based strategies.

  • In-depth understanding of sustainability frameworks, environmental compliance, and government targets.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • A current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the District as required.
