About the Opportunity
As the Student Placement Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS2), you will coordinate and support high-quality student clinical placements across all disciplines in MLHD. Working with facilities, education providers and key stakeholders, you will maximise placement capacity, ensure compliance with NSW Health requirements, and enhance the student experience. You will also manage Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination (OASV), maintain records, and provide guidance to clinical teams and education partners to support successful placements.
As the Student Placement Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will:
- Maintain the ClinConnect database, systems, and processes across all disciplines of MLHD.
- Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with NSW Health ClinConnect team, education providers and relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure that student are able to undertake placements.
- Act as the MLHD contact and administrator for pre-employment scholarships available through the NSW Ministry of Health Nursing and Midwifery Office for Enrolled Nursing Scholarships.
- Communicate student compliance outcomes with Education Providers and students and provide advice on additional screening and vaccination requirements to attain compliance.
- Monitor and record OASV compliance in ClinConnect to facilitate entry into NSW Health facilities for clinical placements. Maintain effective record keeping systems for students OASV evidence and protection of documents.
- Monitor and coordinate Student Placement Agreements between MLHD and educational institutions in partnership with MLHD Corporate & Contracts Manager.
- Provide advice and assistance to Clinical Nurse Educators in the completion of required documentation and escalation of students of concern.
- Oversee student placement administration and facilitate nursing undergraduate students during clinical placements, organise regular debrief, reporting matters related to the clinical development of students, creating opportunities for students to meet their objectives, and evaluating student experience.
- Promote career opportunities in MLHD at careers expos.
