The Role

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) provides coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nurse education (including programs) at the ward/unit level. Providing clinical supervision and education at the point of care within everyday clinical practice, in line with the ANMC Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives. Education may include planning implementing and evaluation inservice education, orientation for transitioning and new nursing staff, including casual staff and supporting and assisting with the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff.
The After Hour Clinical Nurses Educator requires extensive experience in clinical nurse education positions to enable education and clinical support across the clinical areas of the hospital in the after-hours period.

Selection Criteria
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Holds a relevant clinical or education post registration qualification or minimum of 3 years clinical experience in the field.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles).
- Demonstrated clinical teaching & facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of competency attainment and assessment.
- Computer literacy and understanding of hospital information systems.
- Demonstrated recent and extensive experience in an educational position at an acute care facility.
