About the Opportunity
We’re excited to offer a temporary full-time Speech Pathologist (Level 1/2) position within the Brighter Beginnings Health and Development Checks team at South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families across our community. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in delivering health and development screenings in early education and care settings. You’ll contribute to assessment, early intervention, capacity building, and direct care pathways, supporting children to reach their full potential.

What You'll be Doing
This position will support the implementation of the Brighter Beginnings preschool health and development screening, and will provide assessment, early intervention, capacity building and direct care pathways for children in SWSLHD. The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs.
Where You'll Be Working
SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.
These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.
With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Can you describe how your clinical experience supports both independent practice and teamwork, including your approach to quality improvement, communication, time management, and use of digital tools?
- How have you demonstrated evidence-based practice and professional development in assessing and managing paediatric clients (0–12 years), particularly when adapting interventions for culturally and linguistically diverse populations?
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 and P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
